How to Forward Calls from Bell Mobility to Ringing.io
Use Bell Mobility GSM codes to forward calls to your Ringing.io number — all of them, the ones you miss, or only when your line is busy.
Canadian wireless carriers use the GSM MMI code format (**21*number#), not the North American star codes (*72) that US carriers use. The codes below work directly from any Bell Mobility handset dialer. Bell also exposes call forwarding inside the device Call Settings menu and the MyBell app, but the dialer code is the fastest path.
Forward every call to Ringing.io
Send 100% of incoming Bell Mobility calls to your Ringing.io number — your handset never rings.
- 1
Open the phone dialer
Open the standard phone / dialer app on your Bell Mobility device.
- 2
Dial the GSM activation code with your Ringing.io number
Dial *21* immediately followed by your full 10-digit Ringing.io number and the # symbol. Include the area code even for local numbers. Do not include the country code 1.
*21*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 3
Press call and wait for confirmation
Press the call/send button. Bell will respond with an on-screen confirmation (and usually a free SMS) that Call Forwarding Unconditional is active.
- 4
Test it
Call your Bell number from another phone. It should ring straight through to Ringing.io and your AI receptionist should pick up.
How to undo: From your Bell device, dial ##21# and press call. Forwarding is removed and your handset will ring normally again.
Forward only when you miss the call (no-answer)
Your phone rings first. If you do not answer within a few rings, the call is forwarded to Ringing.io instead of Bell voicemail.
- 1
Open the phone dialer
Open the standard phone / dialer app on your Bell Mobility device.
- 2
Dial the no-answer GSM code with your Ringing.io number
Dial *61* immediately followed by your full 10-digit Ringing.io number and the # symbol, then press call. This is the GSM Call Forwarding No Reply code.
*61*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 3
Optional — also forward on busy and unreachable
For full coverage, repeat with *67*<number># (busy) and *62*<number># (unreachable / out of service). Together with *61*, no missed call ever reaches Bell voicemail.
*67*<number># and *62*<number>#
How to undo: Dial ##61# to remove the no-answer rule, ##67# for busy, ##62# for unreachable. Or use ##002# to clear every forwarding rule at once.
Note: Bell typically requires Bell voicemail to be disabled on your line before conditional forwarding (*61*, *67*, *62*) takes precedence — otherwise voicemail intercepts the call first. If conditional forwarding seems to be ignored, call 611 from your Bell device and ask to disable Bell voicemail.
After-hours only (no native schedule on Bell Mobility)
Bell Mobility does not have a native time-of-day forwarding schedule, so you have two options.
- 1
Recommended — publish your Ringing.io number
Put your Ringing.io number on your website, Google Business Profile, and signage. Configure business hours inside Ringing.io. In-hours calls transfer to your Bell line; after-hours calls are handled by the AI. Zero Bell configuration required.
- 2
Manual alternative — toggle *21* at end of day
If you must keep your Bell number published, manually dial *21*<Ringing.io number># when you close, and ##21# when you reopen. Some users automate this via a Shortcuts (iOS) or Tasker (Android) routine that dials the code on a schedule.
How to undo: For the manual approach, ##21# turns forwarding off at any time. For the Ringing.io-as-published-number approach, change your business hours in the Ringing.io dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Does Bell Mobility charge for call forwarding?
Bell offers Call Forwarding as a monthly add-on or on a pay-per-use basis at $0.25 per forwarded minute. If your plan already includes unlimited Canada-wide minutes, the per-minute charge does not apply for North American forwarding destinations. Check your specific rate plan in the MyBell app.
Will SMS and data still work on my Bell line while forwarding is on?
Yes. Bell call forwarding only redirects voice calls. SMS, MMS, and mobile data continue to arrive on your Bell device normally.
How do I check whether forwarding is currently active on my Bell line?
Dial *#21# and press call to see the status of unconditional forwarding. Bell will reply with the active forwarding number, or tell you the service is not active. *#61#, *#67#, and *#62# check the conditional rules. There is also a forwarding indicator in iOS Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Can I forward my Bell number to a US Ringing.io number?
Yes. Bell allows forwarding to any North American (Canada + US) number including 10-digit US numbers. Your Ringing.io number works regardless of whether it is a Canadian or US area code. Bell may apply long-distance minutes against your plan when calls are forwarded to a US number — most modern Canada-US plans cover this.
Why is my call going to Bell voicemail instead of Ringing.io?
Most commonly, you set up no-answer forwarding (*61*) but Bell voicemail is enabled with a shorter answer timeout, so voicemail picks up first. Two fixes: (1) switch to unconditional forwarding *21*<number># which bypasses voicemail entirely, or (2) call 611 and ask Bell to disable Bell voicemail on your line.
Can I set Bell to forward only during business hours?
Bell Mobility does not natively support time-of-day forwarding schedules. The practical solution is to publish your Ringing.io number as your business line and configure business hours inside Ringing.io — Ringing.io then routes in-hours calls to your Bell phone and handles after-hours calls itself.
My iPhone shows "Call Forwarding" in Settings — should I use that instead?
Yes, that works too. On iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding, toggle on, and enter your Ringing.io number (10 digits, no country code). This is the same as dialing *21*<number># under the hood. Use whichever you prefer — the dialer code is faster, the Settings toggle is more visible.
