How to Forward Calls from Fido to Ringing.io
Use Fido GSM codes to forward calls to your Ringing.io number — the same code list Fido publishes for its own customers.
Fido is a Rogers flanker brand and uses the same Canadian GSM MMI code format (*21*number#), not the North American star codes (*72) that US carriers use. The Fido support page lists every code below verbatim. Fido conditional forwarding requires Fido Voice Messaging to be removed from your line — see the no-answer scenario below.

Open the phone dialer
Open the standard phone / dialer app on your Fido device.

Dial the Fido Unconditional forwarding code
Dial *21* immediately followed by your full 10-digit Ringing.io number and the # symbol. Include the area code even for local numbers. Do not include the country code 1.

Press call and wait for confirmation
Press the call/send button. The Fido network will reply with an on-screen confirmation that unconditional forwarding is active.

Test it
Call your Fido number from another phone. It should ring through to Ringing.io and your AI receptionist should pick up.
How to undo: Dial ##21# and press call to permanently cancel unconditional forwarding. Your handset will ring normally again.
Forward only when you miss the call (no-answer / busy / unreachable)
Your phone rings first. If you do not answer, or the line is busy, or your phone is off, the call is forwarded to Ringing.io.

Dial *61* followed by your Ringing.io number and # to forward unanswered calls. Press call.

How to undo: Use ##61#, ##67#, ##62# to deactivate each rule. Or ##002# to clear every forwarding rule at once.
Note: Fido states explicitly: conditional call forwarding is only available when you do not have Voice Messaging. If conditional codes do not work, dial 611 from your Fido phone and press 2 to speak with a Fido representative who can remove Fido Voice Messaging from your line.
After-hours only (no native schedule on Fido)
Fido does not have a native time-of-day forwarding schedule, so you have two options.

Recommended — publish your Ringing.io number
Put your Ringing.io number on your website, Google Business Profile, and signage. Configure business hours inside Ringing.io. In-hours calls transfer to your Fido line; after-hours calls are handled by the AI. Zero Fido configuration required.

Manual alternative — toggle *21* at end of day
If you must keep your Fido number published, manually dial *21*<Ringing.io number># when you close, and ##21# when you reopen. Some users automate this via a Shortcuts (iOS) or Tasker (Android) routine.
How to undo: For the manual approach, ##21# turns forwarding off any time. For the Ringing.io-as-published-number approach, change business hours in the Ringing.io dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Does Fido charge for call forwarding?
Fido says: "Call Forward minutes are always charged at a pay-per-use rate unless you have a Call Forwarding add-on" — or unless calls are forwarded to Fido Voice Messaging. If you have unlimited Canada-wide minutes on your plan, forwarded calls inside Canada generally do not incur additional charges. Check your plan in Fido My Account.
Will SMS and data still work while forwarding is on?
Yes. Fido call forwarding only redirects voice calls. SMS, MMS, and mobile data continue to arrive on your Fido device normally.
How do I check whether forwarding is currently active?
Dial *#21# and press call to see the status of unconditional forwarding. *#61#, *#67#, *#62# check the conditional rules.
Can I forward my Fido number to a US Ringing.io number?
Yes. Fido documents that calls can be forwarded to a Canadian or American (country code 1) phone number. Your US Ringing.io number works. Note that forwarding to a US number may consume long-distance minutes from your plan.
Why is my conditional forward (*61*, *67*, *62*) not working?
Fido requires Fido Voice Messaging to be removed from your line before conditional forwarding will work — otherwise voicemail intercepts the call first. Dial 611 from your Fido phone, press 2, and ask the agent to remove Voice Messaging.
Can Fido forward calls only during business hours?
Fido does not natively support time-of-day forwarding schedules. The recommended approach is to publish your Ringing.io number as your business line and configure business hours in the Ringing.io dashboard — Ringing.io routes in-hours calls to your Fido line and handles after-hours itself.
Do I need to add anything to my Fido plan to use call forwarding?
Call forwarding must be included on your Fido plan to work. Most postpaid Fido plans include it. Prepaid plans typically do not — check your plan in Fido My Account, and if it is not included, you can add the Call Forwarding feature.
