How to Forward Calls from Koodo Mobile to Ringing.io
Use Koodo GSM codes to forward calls to your Ringing.io number — Koodo documents the exact code list directly on its support article.
Koodo is a TELUS flanker brand and uses the same Canadian GSM MMI code format (*21*number#), not the North American star codes (*72) that US carriers use. Koodo postpaid customers need the Call Forwarding add-on enabled on the account first — it is a $5/month feature on most plans. Koodo Prepaid does not support unconditional forwarding.
Forward every call to Ringing.io
Send 100% of incoming Koodo calls to your Ringing.io number — your handset never rings.
- 1
Make sure Call Forwarding is on your plan
In Koodo Self Serve, go to Mobile services > Manage add-ons. If Call Forwarding is not already on your line, add it (typically $5/month). Without this add-on, the *21* code will be rejected.
- 2
Open the phone dialer
Open the standard phone / dialer app on your Koodo device.
- 3
Dial the GSM Unconditional forwarding code
Dial *21* immediately followed by your full 10-digit Ringing.io number and the # symbol. Press the SEND/call button. For example, to forward to 416-123-4567 you dial *21*4161234567# and press SEND.
*21*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 4
Test it
Call your Koodo number from another phone. It should ring through to Ringing.io and your AI receptionist should pick up.
How to undo: Dial #21# and press SEND. Koodo confirms unconditional forwarding is cancelled and your handset will ring normally again.
Forward only when you miss the call (no-answer / busy / unreachable)
Your phone rings first. If you do not answer, or the line is busy, or your phone is off, the call is forwarded to Ringing.io.
- 1
Forward on no reply
Dial *61* followed by your Ringing.io number and # to forward unanswered calls. Press SEND.
*61*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 2
Forward when busy
Dial *67* followed by your Ringing.io number and # to forward calls when your line is busy.
*67*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 3
Forward when not reachable
Dial *62* followed by your Ringing.io number and # to forward calls when your phone is off or out of coverage. This is the only conditional code Koodo Prepaid supports.
*62*<10-digit Ringing.io number>#
How to undo: Use #61#, #67#, #62# to deactivate each rule. Or ##002# to clear every forwarding rule at once.
Note: Conditional forwarding is intercepted by Koodo voicemail unless voicemail is disabled on the line. If the *61*/*67*/*62* codes seem to be ignored, chat with Koodo through Self Serve and ask to disable voicemail.
After-hours only (no native schedule on Koodo)
Koodo does not have a native time-of-day forwarding schedule, so you have two options.
- 1
Recommended — publish your Ringing.io number
Put your Ringing.io number on your website, Google Business Profile, and signage. Configure business hours inside Ringing.io. In-hours calls transfer to your Koodo line; after-hours calls are handled by the AI. Zero Koodo configuration required and you avoid the $5/month Call Forwarding add-on.
- 2
Manual alternative — toggle *21* at end of day
If you must keep your Koodo number published, manually dial *21*<Ringing.io number># when you close, and #21# when you reopen. This still requires the Call Forwarding add-on on your plan.
How to undo: For the manual approach, #21# turns forwarding off any time. For the Ringing.io-as-published-number approach, change business hours in the Ringing.io dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Does Koodo charge for call forwarding?
Yes. Koodo Call Forwarding is a paid add-on at approximately $5/month on most plans. Without the add-on, the *21* code is rejected. Once the add-on is active, forwarded calls within Canada generally do not incur additional per-minute charges if your plan has unlimited Canada-wide minutes.
Will SMS and data still work while forwarding is on?
Yes. Koodo call forwarding only redirects voice calls. SMS, MMS, and mobile data continue to arrive on your Koodo device normally.
Does Koodo Prepaid support call forwarding?
Koodo Prepaid does not support unconditional call forwarding (*21*). Prepaid customers can only use Call Forward Not Reachable (*62*) to redirect calls when their phone is off or out of coverage. For full forwarding control, the postpaid Call Forwarding add-on is required.
How do I check whether forwarding is currently active?
Dial *#21# and press SEND to see the status of unconditional forwarding. *#61#, *#67#, *#62# check the conditional rules.
Can I forward my Koodo number to a US Ringing.io number?
Yes. Koodo follows the same Canadian/US (country code 1) destination rules as TELUS. Forwarding to a US number may consume long-distance minutes from your plan if you do not have a Canada-US bundle.
Can Koodo forward calls only during business hours?
Koodo does not natively support time-of-day forwarding schedules. The recommended approach is to publish your Ringing.io number as your business line and configure business hours in the Ringing.io dashboard — Ringing.io routes in-hours calls to your Koodo line and handles after-hours itself.
I dialed *21*<number># and got an "unknown error" or "not allowed" — what now?
Three common causes: (1) the Call Forwarding add-on is not active on your plan — add it in Self Serve, (2) you typed a country code 1 prefix — drop it, the code expects 10 digits only, or (3) you are on Koodo Prepaid — unconditional forwarding is not supported on prepaid.
