How to Forward Calls from Virgin Plus to Ringing.io
Use Virgin Plus GSM codes to forward calls to your Ringing.io number — all of them, the ones you miss, or only when your line is busy.
Virgin Plus is a Bell flanker brand (and was rebranded from Virgin Mobile Canada in 2021), so it runs on the Bell Mobility network and uses the standard Canadian GSM MMI code format (*21*number#), not the North American star codes (*72). Virgin Plus also exposes call forwarding inside the device Call Settings menu and the My Account app, but the dialer code is the fastest path.
Forward every call to Ringing.io
Send 100% of incoming Virgin Plus calls to your Ringing.io number — your handset never rings.
- 1
Open the phone dialer
Open the standard phone / dialer app on your Virgin Plus device.
- 2
Dial the GSM Unconditional forwarding code
Dial *21* immediately followed by your full 10-digit Ringing.io number and the # symbol. Include the area code even for local numbers. Do not include the country code 1.
*21*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 3
Press call and wait for confirmation
Press the call/send button. The Virgin Plus network (running on Bell Mobility) will reply with an on-screen confirmation that Call Forwarding is active.
- 4
Test it
Call your Virgin Plus number from another phone. It should ring through to Ringing.io and your AI receptionist should pick up.
How to undo: Dial ##21# and press call. Virgin Plus confirms unconditional forwarding is removed and your handset will ring normally again.
Forward only when you miss the call (no-answer / busy / unreachable)
Your phone rings first. If you do not answer, or the line is busy, or your phone is off, the call is forwarded to Ringing.io instead of Virgin Plus voicemail.
- 1
Forward on no-answer
Dial *61* followed by your Ringing.io number and # to forward unanswered calls. Press call.
*61*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 2
Forward when busy
Dial *67* followed by your Ringing.io number and # to forward calls when you are on another call.
*67*<10-digit Ringing.io number># - 3
Forward when unreachable
Dial *62* followed by your Ringing.io number and # to forward calls when your phone is off, in airplane mode, or out of coverage.
*62*<10-digit Ringing.io number>#
How to undo: Use ##61#, ##67#, ##62# to deactivate each rule. Or ##002# to clear every forwarding rule at once. From the device menu, the official Virgin Plus path is Call Settings > Call Forwarding > Deactivate All.
Note: Virgin Plus voicemail intercepts unanswered calls before the *61* conditional forward kicks in. If conditional forwarding is being ignored, call 611 from your Virgin Plus device and ask support to disable Virgin Plus voicemail on your line — or switch to unconditional forwarding *21*, which bypasses voicemail entirely.
After-hours only (no native schedule on Virgin Plus)
Virgin Plus does not have a native time-of-day forwarding schedule, so you have two options.
- 1
Recommended — publish your Ringing.io number
Put your Ringing.io number on your website, Google Business Profile, and signage. Configure business hours inside Ringing.io. In-hours calls transfer to your Virgin Plus line; after-hours calls are handled by the AI. Zero Virgin Plus configuration required.
- 2
Manual alternative — toggle *21* at end of day
If you must keep your Virgin Plus number published, manually dial *21*<Ringing.io number># when you close, and ##21# when you reopen. Some users automate this via a Shortcuts (iOS) or Tasker (Android) routine.
How to undo: For the manual approach, ##21# turns forwarding off any time. For the Ringing.io-as-published-number approach, change business hours in the Ringing.io dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Does Virgin Plus charge for call forwarding?
Virgin Plus states that forwarded calls are charged like any other call from your plan — they consume minutes from your plan allowance. If your plan includes unlimited Canada-wide minutes, forwarded calls within Canada do not incur additional charges. Forwarding to a long-distance destination consumes long-distance minutes (or pay-per-use rates) on plans without a Canada-US bundle.
Will SMS and data still work on my Virgin Plus line while forwarding is on?
Yes. Virgin Plus call forwarding only redirects voice calls. SMS, MMS, and mobile data continue to arrive on your Virgin Plus device normally.
How do I check whether forwarding is currently active?
Dial *#21# and press call to see the status of unconditional forwarding. *#61#, *#67#, *#62# check the conditional rules. The iOS Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding screen also shows the current unconditional state.
Can I forward my Virgin Plus number to a US Ringing.io number?
Virgin Plus documents that call forwarding supports any local or North American (Canada + US) number — international destinations are blocked. Your US Ringing.io number is a North American number, so this works. Long-distance minute charges may apply on plans without a Canada-US bundle.
Does Virgin Plus prepaid support call forwarding?
Most Virgin Plus prepaid plans do not support unconditional call forwarding. If you need full forwarding control, the postpaid Member Benefits plans support it natively. Check your specific plan in the Virgin Plus My Account app.
Why is my call going to Virgin Plus voicemail instead of Ringing.io?
Most commonly, you used a conditional code (*61*, *67*, *62*) but Virgin Plus voicemail picks up before forwarding triggers. Two fixes: (1) switch to unconditional forwarding *21*<number># which bypasses voicemail entirely, or (2) call 611 and ask Virgin Plus support to disable voicemail on your line.
Can Virgin Plus forward calls only during business hours?
Virgin Plus does not natively support time-of-day forwarding schedules. The recommended approach is to publish your Ringing.io number as your business line and configure business hours in the Ringing.io dashboard — Ringing.io routes in-hours calls to your Virgin Plus phone and handles after-hours itself.
